For that reason, we will award a challenge coin to every runner who tackles the hardest task - showing up in the face of adversity - and completes one loop. This weekend is about your individual success. While all but one runner – or maybe all runners – will officially DNF this event, we did not create this race to celebrate failure. Infinite Insanity is about each runners’ individual level of (in)sanity. Night runs will be held on the trails therefore headlamps are mandatory. There are bathrooms at the start and finish point of the course. Runners will not have to contend with cars, bikes, hikers, or the random Michigan sled dog. This meticulously groomed multi-use trail system will be utilized exclusively for the event throughout the duration of the race. The 4.167 mile trail loop runs through a custom-created path through the Mosquito Creek trail system. If no runner can complete one more loop than anyone else, there is no winner. Results of each runner in terms of distance covered are to be given. The winner is the last person to complete a loop. No personal aid during a loop (common aid stations are allowed).Įach loop must be completed within an hour to be counted – including the final lap. No non-competitors on the course (including eliminated runners).

Participants must start a new loop at the sounding of the bell starting the loop.Įxcept for restrooms, competitors may not leave the course until each loop is completed. Participants must be in the starting corral at the start of the loop. Warnings will be given 3, 2, and 1 minutes prior to the start of the next loop. Portable restrooms will be available at the venue. Showers will not be available at the venue. Parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the event venue and along Mill Iron road. Runners will be expected to immediately vacate their space upon dropping out of the race so that other runners may move forward into closer spaces. If possible, we will make each space 10’ x 10’. This space will, at a minimum, accommodate the runner, a chair, a cooler, and a crew member. We will provide space for each runner as close to the starting corral as possible. Minimal snacks will be provided to runners only, while available.

While we appreciate these things, Infinite Insanity is not about the glitz and glamour - it is about the race and your individual accomplishment.
